Why is it always forever and a day before I find a chance to write again? In all honesty, I think it's because I feel inspired a lot, but these days, when I get a chance to actually write, the inspiration has passed and I am just missing sleep. I often read the biographies of writers and notice that many of them made a habit of writing everyday--just to have written something. George Lucas forced himself to write to finish his script, Anne Frank wrote in her diary everyday...not that I am comparing myself to either, but it can't hurt to make it a habit to do the same!
Even though I haven't found the time to write everyday, I have found the time to read, thankfully. Usually, that's what inspires thoughts and ideas, but if a book is that good, how can I force myself to put it down to go write? It's a dilemma! I did recently finish Zeitoun by Dave Eggers. Excellent book, and quick read. It truly is one of those books that made me question things that I've always taken for granted. Also shed a whole new light on the Katrina incident. I will say no more in case a student is online fervently praying for a book report!
